Great news – you are NOT a project!
What do you mean, Dan?
If you are tired of feeling like you’re constantly battling your body, read on, this is for you!
Your Health Is Not a Project
Many of us approach our health with a “project” mentality – diets, unsustainable workout plans, and the pressure to reach a specific goal as fast as possible.
Because as soon as we “get there”, THEN all our problems will vanish and we will finally be happy/fulfilled/energized/lovable/no longer lacking anything.
(If you believe that, you’re dreaming)
But what if there were a better way to build a better relationship with your body, and not turn your health into a project?
Your body is not your enemy
Imagine your body as another person. Your best friend, your partner, not your enemy. This email will help you shift your mindset and build a healthy, sustainable relationship with your best friend, your body.
Step One: Ditch the project mentality and focus on building a strong foundation.
How? Think of it like any relationship:
Communication is key.
Pay attention to your body’s signals – hunger cues, fatigue, aches and pains. It’s talking to you!
Trust:
Respect your body’s wisdom. It’s working hard to keep you alive, and so far it’s done an amazing job. For that it deserves thanks!
Mutual Respect: Nourish your body with healthy foods, and move your body in ways you enjoy. It’s the only place you have to live!
Fun: Don’t make everything a chore! Find activities you love, like dancing, cooking, or playing games.
By building trust and communication with your friend, you can:
- Heal emotional eating patterns
- Feel more motivated to make healthy choices
- Enjoy a more peaceful relationship with food – and with yourself!
Relationship First
Goals are great, but they come later. Focus on building a healthy foundation first. You have to build a healthy relationship with your friend before you can take a trip together!
When your relationship with your body is strong, you’ll be ready to tackle any goal – and in a loving and sustainable way.
Just like brushing your teeth is a daily habit, taking care of your body is too. It’s about self-care, not punishment.
This journey isn’t always easy. There will be uncomfortable conversations with yourself, but you don’t have to go it alone. Reach out for support – a coach, another friend, or your therapist can be a valuable resource.
Focus on progress, not perfection. There will be setbacks, but don’t stop trying. There is never a journey where nothing goes wrong or isn’t what you hoped. There is never a journey where nothing unexpected happens.
You deserve a healthy and happy relationship with your body!
Let’s ditch the “temporary perfection” mentality and build something that’s real — together!
(If this resonates with you, send us a message and ask for a time to talk.
You can’t be first, but you can sure be next!)
